As you may know, the FCC is still pushing to abolish Net Neutrality laws, which, if we don't push back, will happen by Wednesday, and it will fuck us all over.
For those unaware, what Net Neutrality means is that Internet Companies can't make sites slower or faster depending on how much the site or the consumer pays.
Imagine a world where if you want to access Netflix, you have to pay $3.99 a month, because the internet provider wants your money.

Or imagine having Skype pay lots of money to your ISP to make Skype faster and make Discord connection worse.
Or even having EA pay lots of money to boost the ping on their microtransaction-filled BS while fucking over everyone else.

Without Net Neutrality, the power of telecom companies would go unchecked, allowing them to crush competition by blocking or charging more for other services.
Even if you're not in the States, it WILL affect you, too. It will affect everyone.
If this goes in and the internet companies in other countries see how much gold the American Internet Companies make because of a lack of Net Neutrality, everyone will be affected by it.

So what can you do to help?

Netflix already pays extortion money to companies such as Comcast. Comcast told Netflix years ago that providing their service puts additional stress on their network so the made the and similar providers pay to make their content available.

But you are totally right going forward. Trump is allowing the FCC to change how providers are classified and then they are free to do as they wish.

People are getting away from 'classic cable' and going with other option because it is too expensive for the few programs they watch. I myself watch 2 shows per week. My wife and son pretty much have the TV for hours straight. But even with the shows they watch, it would be cheaper to buy the shows via Apple or Amazon and cancel cable completely. And this is where Net Neutrality or Open Internet comes into play. Without it, your ISP could charge you and additional $50 per month to download from Apple, Amazon, Roku, Hulu, or any other site.

They says that removing the Net Neutrality restrictions will open up the ability for people and business to use the "Fast Lane". Which this is total BS, because the fast lane is the normal lane and for this to happen your current download rates woud be reduced to create the Fast Lane.

There are two sides to this issue.  Here is just an excerpt from one source:

. . . since 2015, when the Obama-era “Net Neutrality” rules were put in place, instances of blocking and censoring have only occurred at a rapid pace on platforms owned by Facebook, Google and Twitter, which all lobbied hard for the 2015 “Net Neutrality” rules, which were carefully crafted so as to not touch those companies.

The implementation of these 2015 Obama-era “Net neutrality” regulations, which were heavily pushed by Google in hundreds of closed-door meetings at the Obama White House, carved out Google and the other Silicon Valley behemoths and secured their position as absolute information gatekeepers.

Since these 2015 regulations passed, Internet giant portals like Google, Facebook, and Twitter have moved to become the judge, jury, and executioner of the contact we read on the Internet, under the guise of eliminating “fake news.”

Federal Trade Commission Acting Chairman Maureen Ohlhausen agreed with (FCC Chairman Ajit) Pai that repealing “Net Neutrality” rules would allow market forces to dictate a broader range of ISP services with varying data and pricing policies that she believes will be more responsive to consumer needs.

“The Federal Trade Commission has tools that can protect consumers online more effectively than the Federal Communications Commission,” she argued, stressing that the FCC regulating the Internet as a Title II utility lacked the regulatory authority the FTC has regulating the Internet under trade provisions to protect Internet privacy and to prevent the censorship of ideas and users on ideological grounds."

https://www.infowars.com/twitter-allows-death-threats-against-fcc-chair-ahead-of-net-neutrality-vote/

You might not like the source (infowars.com) but I've heard and read this from many conservative sources, including back when it was being forced on us by Obama, and lately from Rush and others.

I'm all for regulating, if it's regulating Google, Facebook, Twitter, and other anti-free speech sites.  Net "Neutrality" is anything but neutral, and needs to go.  IMHO of course.
